Being true to history as much as possible, this piece is rigged with hemp rope. Each wine loop is hand tied with tarred cord like it was done centuries ago. The antique blocks are rigged in what sailors call luff tackle or jigger that gives a 3 to 1 weight to power ratio that comes in handy when raising sails. The vintage brass lights from a ship are illuminated in red, signifying the port side (left) of the vessel and one in blue, signifying the starboard side (right). A band of weathered copper with its aged patina band the bottles, and hemp rope frames the whole rack. A concealed build in toggle switch controls the lights. The brass plaque reads USS Chesapeake, that provided inspiration for this piece.
