Vintage brass rudder with well used scars, vintage brass piston snap shackle, old brass fairlead and brass pulley rigged with hemp rope. The rope is braided into itself at the shackle with the other end tar cord wrapped. Brass plaque attached, all mounted on old well weathered gray oak. The end grains are covered with tarnished-weathered heavy gauge copper. Free standing brass legs or can be hung on a wall. Hanging hardware included. Just a note: I travel far and wide to find wood with a real patina like is used here. Pintrest is rife with ideas and techniques to faux color new wood. I have seen and done it all and nothing comes close to what nature does. Part 2 – that rudder was coated in marine paint. I have never encountered such a substance. Nearly impervious to anything – except me of course.
